Manager, Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

The SEM Manager is responsible for planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing paid search engine marketing activities and will be managing the development and growth of Vivial’s premier SEM services.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing, executing and managing successful SEM campaigns that have met and exceeded campaign goals and business objectives. They are expected to work closely with clients on a day to day basis in providing SEM expertise and recommendations. They will also work closely with all internal teams; account management, strategists, sales, and executive teams to deliver an integrated solution. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills as they will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects. They must be a strategic thinker, but also enjoy the hands-on work.


  • Must possess a deep understanding of PPC campaign creation, ongoing management and optimization including;
    • Content development for text ads, display ads, and associated landing pages
    • Develop and implement optimum PPC budgeting and bidding strategies
    • Construction of keyword lists by industry verticals in accordance with advertiser focus
    • Measure and analyze campaign performance against advertiser objectives and KPIs
  • Work with cross functional departments to develop and track all details of SEM initiatives
  • Experience with the Google AdWords platform, Google Shopping Ads and Local Service Ads
  • Assist sales with proposal development for new and renewal programs for strategic accounts
  • Assist with SEM Product enhancement research and proof of concepts
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients, understand their business, and serve as their go-to thought leader on Paid Search opportunities
  • Adept at explaining difficult concepts using simple language and graphics
  • Maintaining expertise on search engine marketing news and trends, ability to incorporate multiple paid media strategies into an integrated solution (i.e. ecommerce, retargeting, display, video)
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and problem solve


Job Specifications:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Advertising or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing and SEM.
  • Compelling presentation skills in small and large group settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to grasp complex issues and translate them into easily understandable terms.
  • Excellent writing skills a must.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • May be required to travel up to 15%.
